Our optical grade undoped Czochralski grew Sodium Chloride Crystal Substrates with high optical homogeneity excluding central core of crystal boules, without visible striae with shadowgraph, inclusions and bubbles.
Sodium Chloride (NaCl) crystal is water-soluble, and it is easily deliquescent. It cannot be chemically polished. Sodium Chloride Crystal Substrates are commonly used as substrate materials for expitaxial thin film growth. NaCl is hygroscopic by nature and very sensitive to moisture. NaCl crystal substrates must be stored in desiccator container to avoid hydration.

Sodium Chloride Crystal Substrates are usually used for infrared transmission windows and FTIR spectrophotometers. It’s also useful for CO2 lasers.
